NFL London Games Guide: 2026 Fixtures and History

The NFL has played in London every year since 2007 and now splits time between Wembley and Tottenham. Here is this season's UK slate and how the series began.

For a British fan, the easiest way into the NFL used to be staying up for a Monday night kickoff at 1am. These days, the league comes to you: London has hosted NFL regular-season football every year since 2007, and the 2026 schedule leaned into that further than ever.

The 2026 UK Slate

The 2026 season carried a record nine international games overall, including the NFL's first-ever regular-season games in Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro and Paris, plus three games in London:

  • Week 4, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: Indianapolis Colts beat Washington Commanders.
  • Week 5, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: Jacksonville Jaguars beat Philadelphia Eagles.
  • Week 6, Wembley Stadium: Houston Texans beat Jacksonville Jaguars, in an AFC South rivalry game played on home soil for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars, as usual, played twice in a single London window, a scheduling quirk the league has used for years to limit the number of teams who need to make the transatlantic trip.

Still to Come This Season

The NFL's international push did not stop at London in 2026. The Detroit Lions play the New England Patriots in Munich on November 15, 2026, and the Minnesota Vikings meet the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City on November 22, 2026, part of the same record international slate.

How the London Series Started

The NFL's first regular-season game outside North America was played at Wembley Stadium on October 28, 2007: the New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins 13-10 in front of a sellout crowd of roughly 81,000, with the Dolphins serving as the designated home team. Wembley hosted every London game exclusively from 2007 through 2015, after which the league began splitting fixtures across multiple UK venues as the annual commitment grew from one game a year to several.

Tottenham's Purpose-Built NFL Stadium

When Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened in 2019, it was built with a genuinely unusual feature for a football ground: beneath the retractable grass football pitch sits a permanent synthetic NFL field. Three giant grass trays slide away under the South Stand to reveal it, a process that takes a matter of hours. Spurs signed a long-term NFL partnership guaranteeing at least two American football games there every season for a decade, making it the league's only purpose-designed European home.

The Jaguars' London Identity

No franchise is more associated with the city than the Jacksonville Jaguars, who became the NFL's designated London franchise from 2013 and have hosted more regular-season home games in the city than any other team, splitting fixtures between Wembley and Tottenham in recent years. Talk of an eventual full-time London franchise resurfaces regularly, though travel logistics and scheduling fairness remain real obstacles the league has not resolved.

How to Watch in the UK

Sky Sports carries the NFL's main live UK rights under a dedicated Sky Sports NFL channel, with exclusive Sunday evening windows at 6pm and 9pm UK time, plus every international game played on British soil. The deal, extended in 2025, runs through at least the 2027-28 season.

Why It Keeps Growing

Between the London Series' near two-decade history, a permanent NFL-ready stadium in north London, the Loughborough-based NFL Academy developing British teenage talent, and record UK television numbers for marquee matchups, the NFL's British footprint has moved well past novelty status. For many fans, a trip to Tottenham or Wembley in October is now as normal an autumn fixture as a Six Nations weekend.
